Great Northern & Cascade Railway Mini Train Rides
Established in 2012, the Great Northern & Cascade Railway offers free mini train rides (donations accepted) on 1/8th scale trains. Rides are available on Saturdays and holidays from May through October. Visitors can also explore the historic 1898 Depot and train museum, open from 10 AM to 4 PM (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays). This family-friendly attraction celebrates the region’s rich railroad history and offers a unique experience for train enthusiasts of all ages.

Skykomish Library – More Than Just Books
Founded in 1994, Skykomish Library is known for its friendly atmosphere and community-focused events. It hosts activities such as book clubs, Story Time, art workshops, and free tutoring. A part of the King County Library System, the library connects the Skykomish community with an extensive collection of books and resources. Skykomish Historical Society Museum
– Discover Our Past
Showcases the rich history of the town and surrounding region. Open weekends from April through November, 12 PM to 4 PM, the museum invites visitors to explore exhibits that highlight the area’s frontier beginnings, railroad heritage, and community legacy.

Sky Artworks– Creativity in the Cascades
Sky Artworks is an arts-oriented community center in the historic Maloney Store building. It features collaborative workspaces, rotating exhibits, and a welcoming atmosphere that supports local artists and celebrates the creative spirit of Skykomish. Whether you’re visiting to view art, meet makers, or participate in community projects, Sky Artworks is a vibrant cultural hub in the heart of town.

Skykomish Sit & Spin Laundromat – Clean Clothes & Local Charm
The Sit ‘n Spin Laundromat is a practical and welcoming spot for travelers and locals alike. Conveniently located in town, it offers self-service laundry machines in a clean, friendly environment—perfect for freshening up your clothes while enjoying your time in Skykomish. Open 7 days a week from 6 am to 9 pm and has 7 Whirlpool stacker.

The Historic Maloney Store

A visit to the Maloney Store offers a unique blend of history, culture, and local charm. Built in 1893 by Skykomish founder John Maloney, the Landmark Maloney Store in the heart of the Town’s Historic District is one of the town’s oldest and most iconic buildings. Originally serving as the general store, post office, and hardware store, it was a hub of frontier life.
